Just wanted to say...hi! I'm having a day off here on my internship. I'm fighting a yucky cold. I'm having a blast. :D

I've seen many polar bears, two beluga whales, a snowy owl, three arctic foxes, five arctic hares, dozens of willow ptarmigans, and a silver fox. :) I keep looking for wolves!

You might have noticed via my gallery that I now have a Canon EOS 30D. I have three lenses with it, including a 400mm lense. I am super excited to learn how to use it and to take pictures of wildlife!

I will be in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada from October 10th to November 15th for an internship with Polar Bears International. I will be sure to take many, many photos and document my time there!

In August of next year, I will be vacationing with my family in the Pacific Northwest. The majority of our time will be in Oregon, but we will also visit some places in Washington and then will cross over to Vancouver Island to try and see the Northern Resident orcas. :D

In the summer of 2013, I will be interning with NOAA. I will help research the feeding habits of pelagic sharks off the coast of California, specifically in La Jolla. This means I can study great whites, blue sharks, makos, threshers, and other species of sharks! I am so stoked!

All-in-all, despite a rigorous school schedule the next few years, I have a lot of great things going on! So keep an eye on my gallery. ;)

Rules:
1. Pick three of your OCs.
2. Fill in the questions/statements as if you were your OCs.
3. Tag five people to do this meme~!

Victims:
-Annabelle
-Salem
-Abigale

START

1. What are your names?
-Annabelle Force, but friends call me Anna.
-Salem Porter.
-Abigale Daily

2. Do you know why you were named that?
Annabelle: My mother, being a big fan of Edgar Allan Poe, named me Annabelle Lee Force after his poem Annabel Lee.
Salem: My mom wanted a unique name.
Abigale: I'm not quite sure.

3. Are you single or taken?
Annabelle: I'm on the fence. I have a boyfriend, but for my sanity I need to go on my own. I'm thinking of moving to Ireland with family over there.
Salem: Taken by my wonderful boyfriend Hunter.
Abigale: "Taken?" That is a strange phrase. If you are asking whether I am courting someone, then yes, I am.

4. Have any abilities or powers?
Annabelle: Haha, no. There's no such thing as magic.
Salem: If by 'ability' you mean art, then yes. If you're asking whether I can turn invisible, then no...that's stupid.
Abigale: Powers? No.

5. Stop being a Mary Sue!
Annabelle: I once thought I was, but not anymore.
Salem: I am no Mary Sue, nor am I a Gary Stu.
Abigale: Pardon? What does this mean?

6. What's your eye color?
Annabelle: Green
Salem: Brown
Abigale: Blue

7. How about hair color?
Annabelle: Black
Salem: Dyed black, naturally brown.
Abigale: Light brown

8. Have any family members?
Annabelle: Yes. A terrible father, and some distant relatives over in Ireland.
Salem: I've never known my dad, but I live with my mom and her girlfriend.
Abigale: My younger brother Nicolas.

9. That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.
Annabelle: Being alone; being pressured.
Salem: People.
Abigale: A lot of modern behaviors and technology, I suppose.

10. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Annabelle: Horseback riding, playing my Celtic violin, drawing.
Salem: Painting, tattooing, dog training.
Abigale: Cooking, caring for the property.

11. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
Annabelle: Yes.
Salem: Other than myself, you mean? Yes. On the way to destroying myself, I destroyed my lover as well. Thank god for second chances.
Abigale: Everyone makes mistakes, so most likely the answer is yes. I cannot think of anything at this time.

12. Ever... killed anyone before?
Annabelle: My mother. That's what my father tells me.
Salem: No.
Abigale: Goodness, no!

13. What kind of animal are you?
Annabelle: Human, of course.
Salem: ...What? Is this a serious question?
Abigale: I'm a person, of course!

14. Name your worst habits?
Annabelle: I can be pretty selfish. I sometimes forget important instructions that my Father tells me.
Salem: Mr. Self Destruct.
Abigale: I'm not sure...

15. Do you look up to anyone at all?
Annabelle: Perhaps.
Salem: Yes, to my lover, my mother, and Sarah.
Abigale: I do! I look up to my grandmother, and many others.

16. Gay, straight, or bi?
Annabelle: Straight.
Salem: Gay.
Abigale: I am not attracted to other women. I like men.

17. Do you go to school?
Annabelle: Not anymore.
Salem: I'm done.
Abigale: No, I do housework.

18. Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
Annabelle: Who knows? It's not off the table, but not at the present time. Definitely not at the present time.
Salem: Not possible for me, at least in the States.
Abigale: Oh, yes, of course!

19. Do you have fangirls/fanboys?
Annabelle: I probably do from being in the band, but I don't want to be seen as arrogant and say yes.
Salem: Not so much. I'm not exactly a good role model.
Abigale: I have fans of my music, but not of me. That would be barbaric.

20. What are you most afraid of?
Annabelle: Being alone the rest of my life. Suffocating in depression.
Salem: Losing Hunter. Losing myself again.
Abigale: My brother dying...Zach deserting me or dying...

21. What do you usually wear?
Annabelle: Skinny jeans, band tees, some fancy shirts.
Salem: Whatever clothes I have lying around. T-shirts, jeans...
Abigale: Dresses and corsets, of course. Nothing else would be proper for a lady.

22. Do you wish this quiz was over?
Annabelle: I need to pack, so yes.
Salem: Yes.
Abigale: I have chores I should be doing...

23. How many friends do you have?
Annabelle: A few.
Salem: One, not including my mom or Sarah.
Abigale: Quite a few! All of the members of my brother's band, and of Zach's band. And of course my dearest friend, Lilly.

24. What are your thoughts on pie?
Annabelle: Pie is okay. Better than cake, at least.
Salem: Pie is good. I like cake even more.
Abigale: I love to bake it!

25. Alright. What's your favorite food?
Annabelle: I'm not too picky. Food is food. If I was forced to pick one, perhaps burgers and fries.
Salem: Lots of vegan and vegetarian meals. I do have a soft spot for cheese pizza.
Abigale: I have to say, I can't pick just one. I love making and eating many kinds of food!

26. Favorite drink?
Annabelle: Any fizzy soft drinks.
Salem: Water...or alcohol.
Abigale: Water or milk from Heidi.

27. What's your favorite place?
Annabelle: The barn and the woods here in Kentucky, or perhaps anywhere in Ireland. Not that I've been there, though.
Salem: My home, Chicago... Okay, I do miss Key West. There too.
Abigale: My family property here in Massachusetts! I'd love to visit London, however.

28. Are you interested in anyone?
Annabelle: Yes, but I need to have a break from him. I need time to myself. I hope Egan understands...
Salem: That's an understatement. Hunter is my life.
Abigale: Goodness yes. I didn't even realize how much I could love someone. Zach is the most wonderful gentleman I have ever met.

29. If you're a girl, what's your cup size? If you're a guy, how big are you?
Annabelle: Random and a bit rude, but whatever. I'm a C cup.
Salem: What the fuck? O.o
Abigale: What a highly inappropriate question! Scandalous!

30. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
Annabelle: Lake, I suppose. Streams are even better.
Salem: The ocean, of course!
Abigale: I suppose a lake. It's improper for a lady to, however.

31. What's your type?
Annabelle: Dark hair, pretty eyes, a musician. Good with animals.
Salem: Hunter is my type. He's been tolerant of my many bad habits over the years, gives second chances, loves and accepts me for who I am. Loves animals.
Abigale: Sweet, calming, understanding of my lifestyle choice.

32. Any fetishes?
Annabelle: No.
Salem: Not that I know of.
Abigale: No!

33. Seme or uke?
Annabelle: What the hell?
Salem: Excuse me?
Abigale: Pardon?

34. Camping or indoors?
Annabelle: Camping. Does sleeping in the barn count?
Salem: Indoors.
Abigale: Indoors.

35. Are you still wanting the quiz to end?
Annabelle: Yes
Salem: Yes
Abigale: Yes, I still have work to do.

Okay! Tag people!

... haha. Not tagging anyone. If you want to do this, feel free.

I just visited the Indianapolis Zoo with Mom and my sister. We went to see their new exhibits and meet up with a keeper friend that I met while I was in Churchill last November. :)

The new Amur tiger exhibit was amazing! The male was walking around, right by the viewing windows, and then he proceeded to go lay down in the pool. I got some pretty cool shots that I'm going to upload in a minute. The warthogs and bats were cool, too!

Best of all was that we got to go back and see the white rhinos/Speke's gazelles behind the scenes, as well as the walrus exhibit! My friend used to be the head keeper at marine mammals (she's since switched over to the education department), so she took us back to meet Aurora the walrus. I got a kiss on the hand, the lips, and got to feed her. It totally made my week.

I leave for Orlando in less than 3 days!!! AHHH! :joy: My mom and sister are going with me. We're going to Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld (I'm doing some investigating), Animal Kingdom, visiting the beach for a day, and best of all....HARRY POTTER WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot begin to explain how FREAKING STOKED I AM.

I'm gonna be bored during the plane ride and stuff. Mom is giving me $20 to spend on iTunes, so I was thinking about buying the season pass for season 2 of Glee. That's only $20 out of my pocket. Think I should get it? I'm awfully obsessed with that show right now.... :meow:

Bah. Trying to write an essay for my primates class on bonobos, comparing and contrasting their behaviors in captivity compared to the wild. It's hard to find enough info to expand upon with a few sources. None can be websites. I'm using one article from a textbook, a scholarly article found on the university's library website, a video we watched in class, and an interview I had with a keeper at the Cincinnati Zoo for my sources. And somehow it's difficult to make this into 3 pages single spaced.

Is it sad that I'm already dreading the release of City of Fallen Angels because it means I have to wait another long period of time before the next book (City of Lost Souls)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited that I can hardly concentrate in my college classes cuz all I want to do is read TMI :XD:

:woohoo:

:w00t:

I did it before when I was 10, at the Vancouver Aquarium (with Aurora and Qila). Now I get to do it at SW. I mean, sure, I don't think cetaceans belong in tanks, but honestly - it's a beluga. Who could pass that up?

My mom surprised me with it. :D

It seems like recently, more than ever, I have wanted to take up art again. For the longest time, reading and writing took over my art. I no longer doodled, instead I wrote snippets of things. I no longer saw the world in images and colors, I saw the world in words and phrases. I recently re-read Harry Potter and searched google images for "the Marauders" - because the Marauder era is probably my favorite, even having never read HP fan fiction. I found a piece, a painting, that opened my eyes to the world of fan art.

Since that fateful internet search, I have been scouring the net - especially this site - for art. And seeing how words written by an amazing author could be connected to visual art really moved me, and got my imagination flowing. I began seeing things in both words AND images. I think it is time for me to begin taking up art again.

To be honest, I have always loved drawing. But I am full of self-doubt when it comes to anything I create. I am fairly good at many species of animals, but have never been good at humans - I am a self-taught artist, and I want to learn how to draw people. I need to learn, more than anything, proportions. Once I learn that, I'll be off to a good start. I wonder how I can go about this...
