I am a graduate student getting a MS in sustainability. I've been involved with Polar Bears International since I was 16, in 2007, when I was part of their Teen Leadership Camp. I've since been to Churchill, Manitoba, Canada four times. The fall of 2011 I worked under Dr. Steve Amstrup, launching a pilot project utilizing citizen science on the polar bears. I worked at the Louisville Zoo part-time as an interpreter at the bear and pinniped exhibit, Glacier Run, and have been volunteering at the zoo since I was 13. I was a seasonal naturalist at Jefferson Memorial forest in 2015.
Though you see pictures I have taken of captive cetaceans at places such as SeaWorld, I am against cetaceans in captivity because of their intelligence and social structure - with a few exceptions, like rescues. But I won't bombard you with anti-cap comments unless you want to have a civil conversation about our opinions (in fact, I used to be SUPER pro-captivity, until I went to OrcaLab and researched orcas in the wild for two months).
Photography is a passion of mine, as well as reading and writing. I draw occasionally as well. :)
